PRESS RELEASE: May 2, 2011 We are pleased to announce that our efforts at Feeding the Homeless at the Salvation Army continue to pick up steam and support those greatly less fortunate than us in our downtown San Diego community... Here are some updates: 1. We continue to feed 120 people per week or 6,240 people per year at the Salvation Army on 7th and F, Wednesdays at 6PM 2. Since we took back over last January, we've fed 8,280 people, from the generosity of our local downtown neighbors 3. We've had over 700 volunteer hours in providing this community service 4. We expect to start assisting people with e-access to their health and other benefits by the end of Q2 each Wednesday evening. I am excited to announce that we have 2 new sponsor / partners in our efforts: 1. Food @ Fit. www.FOODATFIT.com, has been providing the entree meal for the homeless every Wednesday since January, with 100% natural, all fresh food, consisting of pasta, ground turkey, and other healthy seasonings for these folks. Plus we serve them and don't make them wait in any line for their meal. The amazing part of Food @ Fit is that it was founded to provide super healthy, varieties of meals, ordered on-line, for about $5.00 per meal, and delivered to Fit Athletic Club 2-3 times weekly for people to pick up. This reduces your shopping time and check out the weight loss testimonials. If you have more than 25 employees, they'll set up delivery to your place of work. The best and last part of this is if you put my name, Jeffrey, in the sales person code line, 5% of the meal cost goes to feeding the homeless. 2. Manoj Motwani, MD. www.DRMOTWANI.com, He is San Diego's best known Lasik eye surgeon and has graciously committed $50 from each lasik surgery(both eyes) thru Q3, September 30, to these efforts feeding the homeless. These funds help with the cost of supplies, water, bread, and cookies, or dessert. So if you were thinking about having your eyes done, now would be a great time to do so and help a great cause. Just mention, Jeffrey and Feeding the Homeless downtown for your discount. Lastly, for those of you who want to support the efforts feeding the homeless directly, you can do so by simply sending a tax deductible donation to: Hunger at Home 7660 Fay Avenue, Suite 329 La Jolla, CA 92037 501(c)3 EIN: 95-3403208 Attn: Christian Braemer, CEO Thanks again to everyone for their continue concern, support, energy, and love. For our community is only as strong as it's weakest link. I am blessed to be part of this great movement downtown. Remember, we are all only one event away from being one of them...
